How SoapBox Supports your Communications Efforts

We want everyone to get value from SoapBox. And the best way to do that is to make sure your employees and leaders are engaging regularly!

So, SoapBox will communicate with your community from time to time to make sure they're supported. We do our best to tailor our messages to their experience as much as possible so they can engage in the conversations they really care about.

Here's a rundown of the types of messages we send to your community:


System-generated messages to all employees and leaders​


Your SoapBox Community NewsletterSystem generated (hard-coded) summary of the latest ideas, comments and responses. Program Managers can add a custom announcement to the top of the newsletter.

Edit abilities: Program Managers can turn it on/off and edit the custom announcement.


​Activity NotificationsAlerts individual when something happens to an idea they are interested in (e.g., someone comments on your own idea, a response is added to an idea you voted on).

Edit abilities: Click here to see how each user can customize the notifications they receive in their profile.


New user Welcome Screens -  A series of 5 screens that welcome new employees and leaders to your community and give them a quick run down of how to use SoapBox.

Edit abilities: On-boarding screens are hard-coded into the app so all users will see them.



Tailored messages sent to employees and leaders based on their SoapBox role and activity


New Feature AlertsIn-app or email messages announcing new features and exciting updates. 

Edit abilities: Users cannot opt out of receiving in-app alerts but can unsubscribe from emails via the 'unsubscribe' link.


Success Tips/Messages of EncouragementTailored guidance (based on actions they have or have not yet taken in-app) to help leaders and employees engage in SoapBox and get value from your program. 

Edit abilities: Users cannot opt out of receiving in-app alerts but can unsubscribe from emails via the 'unsubscribe' link.


Program Manager and Leader NewslettersProgram Managers and SoapBox Leaders receive curated information and news from SoapBox. Newsletters are typically sent out monthly. 

Edit abilities: Program Managers get these by default, but SoapBox Leaders need to opt in. Anyone can unsubscribe at anytime.
